It is always very strange to write an About Me section. Like answering the awkward interview questions but thinking the whole time ‘is this interesting?’ The answer is most often NO!!
I’m Caitlin, a 24-year-old Junior Strategist , Events Management Graduate (from the University of Gloucestershire!), and Events Blogger. I started writing ‘I’m a Damn Student‘ back in May 2011, but had been blogging for 4 years before that on BlogByKobrak since 2007!
I’ve known that the Events Industry is where I wanted to work since I went to university in 2010, I was one of the Final 5 in the 2014 Eventice competition & continue to focus a lot of my free time working with Event Students – from setting up #EventStudents & Facebook group, through to co-creating and running both The Student Sessions & most recently Event First Steps.
I am also the Education Director at Large for ILEA UK, have written for Event Magazine as the Student ‘Agony Aunt’ on the Student Hub, and have recently be named one of the 30 under 30 and number 70 of the 100 most influential people in the events industry.

Like a majority of the population I am a big Taylor Swift fan, Coffee addict and Netflix and Box-Set watcher. I would also add that I am a fierce feminist and am fascinated with technology (I’m currently attempting to learn code) and the world of social media. Follow me on Snapchat: ckobrak
Blogging Tips always say you need to provide readers with personal information & just in case my love of Tay Swizzle is not enough, I also have a strong UglyDoll collection and a ridiculous love for Pugs and French Bulldogs.
**In fact if you own a Pug or French Bulldog then automatically we are BEST FRIENDS!!
