All of the pictures (unless stated) are from my Instagram
So we are now into April, the same month which this time last year was all about finishing the dreaded dissertation (you can read through my personal, horrendous, experience here!). After a pretty sporadic approach of writing posts there will be some interesting topics being discussed in April, which I hope will make up for the recent lack of content!
2015 has been a pretty busy year so far, and March was no exception.
It might seem a little counterproductive to run through what happened last month, when typically the first post of each month ought to look at what the future might involve, however I wanted to share a round-up of some venues & events I’ve visited!
I got the chance to see the Shard Event space at the end of Feb (let’s just pretend it was in March) which for the view alone is incredible. The pictures I took don’t do it justice, and because the event space offers a 360-degree, uninterrupted view of the wonderful London Skyline it has automatically become one of my favourite event spaces.
I attended a Relentless gig, a few weeks back, for the launch of their new Mango Ultra energy drink – we heard a great set from Tropics and although I couldn’t stay to see All We Are play, it reminded me how much I enjoy live music. It was hosted in their ‘iconic’ Denmark Store which has a lovely light installation (that apparently changes colours in time to the music), I especially liked the fact the event supported Relentless ethos of providing “amazing live experiences while supporting emerging creative talents!”
March also saw my amazing talented friend Melody Grossman’s first private show at Rolling Stock in Hoxton. An amazing exhibition featuring some of her fantastic work, hosted in a quirky venue where I was quickly reminded about how great London is & how many more places I need to explore!
Last night I attended Evetopedia‘s event on PR events – which saw some interesting idea such as posting blog posts instead of sending out Press Releases! It was hosting at One Horse Guard a venue I had not previously visited, but I am always swayed by a space with a great view of the London eye! I can also vouch that the canapés produced by the One Dining team are incredible!!
London offers some incredible venue spaces, both in central and some further a field, I know as students we don’t need to know about these spaces but it is great to keep up-to date with the industry! The wonderful Irina (from The Mice Blog) has been showcasing a venue a day for the whole of March on instagram, which I highly recommend looking at!
Do you have any venue spaces (across the UK) that you think offer something a little different?
