Due to my participation in twitter chats, such as #bloghour
, I have been able to find some really fantastic blogs, such as Katie’s antics
. She wrote a really great post
all about what essentials are needed within the event kit box, & her post got me thinking about all the things that are important to have on site but are often forgotten.Having worked on a large number of events you would think I would have this list memorised!
Taking inspiration from Katie, this post is a checklist of all the things Event Managers need whilst out on an event. I have split them into what you need on you at all times, what goes into the box & what is useful to have in both!
Spare pair of shoes *for set-up & take-down of event*
Hair brush & extra hair bands
On Person & also in the Box:
Pens, pencils, sharpies & white board pens
Notebooks or paper
The event time-sheet *multiple copies are always needed*
Empty memory sticks
List of important numbers
In the Kit Box/Event Room:
Ink for printer
Charger for laptop & iPad
Duck tape, red & white tape and Sellotape
First aid kit
Stapler & staples
Blank A4 paper *for makeshift signs, printer paper & for notes*
Bottle opener & corkscrew
Matches & lighters
Dustpan & brush
Event Juice has a good Event Manager’s Survival Kit Checklist, as do EMG with their Event Manager’s Survival Kit. These might have additional items that I have forgotten to mention here & if you have anything else you think needs added or you have found particularly useful then please let me know in the comments below!
& Thank you to every single person who voted for this blog in the National Blog Awards 2014, we should find out next week if IDS have been shortlisted within the Events Category.
